Is Penélope Cruz the next Bond girl?
PENELOPE Cruz could line up opposite Daniel Craig in the next Bond flick, a leaked document reveals.
A LEAKED document has revealed that Penélope Cruz could line up opposite Daniel Craig in the next Bond flick.
Sony studio bosses have apparently been after the Spanish actor star ever since Daniel Craig took on the iconic role in 2006.
“But schedules and her pregnancies meant it never materialised,” a source told The Sun.
“At this stage no one at Sony will confirm it.”
Director Sam Mendes is believed to want Cruz to star as Craig’s love interest in the follow up to Skyfall (which starred her husband Javier Bardem as the villain Raoul Silva).
The title of the next Bond film has not been revealed, but shooting is expected to start in November.
Meanwhile, former Bond Pierce Brosnan has said in an interview with The Telegraph that he can’t watch himself as Bond because his performance was “never good enough”.
“I have no desire to watch myself as James Bond, because it’s just never good enough — it’s a horrible feeling.”
Bronsan, who played Bond in four films — Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day — said, “I felt I was caught in a time warp between Roger [Moore] and Sean [Connery].
“It was a very hard one to grasp the meaning of, for me. The violence was never real; the brute force of the man was never palpable. It was quite tame, and the characterisation didn’t have a follow-through of reality — it was surface. But then that might have had to do with my own insecurities in playing him as well.”
