Taylor Swift’s rumoured romance with NFL star seemingly confirmed by his brother
Taylor Swift is reportedly dating a hot NFL star – and his brother appears to have confirmed the news in a new interview.
Taylor Swift’s rumoured new romance with NFL star Travis Kelce appears to have been confirmed by the Super Bowl winner’s older brother, Jason Kelce.
Whispers the pair have been dating had gotten louder in recent days with reports they’ve been spending time together.
While neither Swift, 33, nor Kansas City Chiefs star, also 33, have addressed the speculation, Travis’ brother told the WIP Morning Show on Wednesday that he believes the rumours are “100 per cent true”.
“It’s hard to answer because I don’t really know a lot about what’s happening with Travis’ love life,” Jason said on the program when asked.
The 35-year-old – who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL – said he doesn’t often get involved in his brother’s personal life as he typically stays “out of that world”.
“But having said that, man, I think they’re doing great, and I think it’s all 100 per cent true and I hope that this thing goes the mile,” he said, before playfully adding: “No, I’m joking. I don’t even know what’s happening.”
It was last week that rumours Swift was dating Kelce made headlines when Page Six reported that the footballer tried to give the singer his phone number but failed at the Kansas City, Missouri, stop of her Eras Tour.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce said to his brother during a taping of their New Heights podcast back in July.
“So, I was a little hurt that I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
One of the bracelets apparently had his phone number on it.
“She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me,” he added. “So, I took it personal.”
It appears the pair later got in touch in New York and have been hanging out ever since.
“Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out,” an insider told Page Six. “She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago.”
And it seems Taylor has already dropped a hint they are an item. On a recent outing, she wore an opal necklace that points to Travis’ birthstone – his birthday is October 5.
Sports broadcasters in the US have also hinted at a relationship too.
When Kelce caught his first touchdown of the season this week, announcer Ian Eagle said: “Kelce finds a ‘Blank Space’ for the score,” which references Swift’s hit song of the same name.
Fellow commentator Rich Eisen also shared a similar pun before that same game.
“You saw it on Thursday night when Travis Kelce wasn’t in there, it left a ‘Blank Space,’” he joked.
“But I think he returns today and proves to be the ‘Anti-hero.’ Never goes out of ‘Style.’”
For now, Kelce’s lips are sealed, after expertly dodging a question in a recent NFL+ interview.
“I said what I said. And I meant what I said when I said it,” he said of his podcast comments about Swift. “And you know what, it is what it is. I’m not gonna talk about my personal life.”
