Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas: Dr Phil reveals couple’s wedding date

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ attempts to keep their second nuptials under wraps appear to have been dashed after one guest revealed too much.

The date of Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ upcoming second wedding appears to have been accidentally revealed after an unlikely celebrity commented on an Instagram photo of the couple.

Turner and Jonas legally wed in a small impromptu ceremony in May but plan to celebrate with a bigger wedding surrounded by family and friends in France.

On Sunday the Game of Thrones star shared a selfie of her and her fiance in Paris on Instagram.

The post attracted plenty of comments from the couple’s celebrity friends, including one from Dr Phil which read: “Easy now! 1 week to go! Ha! See you at the wedding!”

Dr Phil’s comment didn’t go unnoticed by fans of the Game of Thrones star, who assumed he had “leaked” the date of Turner and Jonas’ wedding.

“Someone take this man’s phone away,” one of Turner’s followers joked.

While Dr Phil might seem like an unlikely wedding attendee for the couple, Turner was a guest on the celebrity doctor’s podcast earlier this year.

Turner spoke candidly about her battle with online trolls and depression on Phil in the Blanks in April, telling Dr Phil how she used to believe she was a “bad actress”.

“I would just believe it. I would say, ‘Yeah, I am spotty. I am fat. I am a bad actress.’ I would just believe it,” Turner said. “I would get (the costume department) to tighten my corset a lot. I just got very, very self-conscious.”

It’s not the first time Turner and Jonas has had their nuptials revealed to the public by one of their A-list guests — their Las Vegas wedding in May was livestreamed on Instagram by musician Diplo.

Turner and Jonas exchanged vows with an Elvis Impersonator celebrant inside A Little White Wedding Chapel following the Billboard Music Awards.

Jonas’ brothers and bandmates Nick and Kevin served as groomsmen while musicians Dan + Shay performed their song “Speechless” as Turner walked up the aisle.

While Turner and Jonas had always planned to be legally married before their French wedding — in France a religious wedding ceremony is not considered legal — the singer confirmed they had wanted to keep their Las Vegas ceremony under wraps.

“I love Diplo, but he loves his ‘gram more than a 13-year-old. He posts every five seconds,” Jonas later told UK radio show Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp. “We just laughed. We loved it. We thought it was ridiculous.”

Turner and Jonas first announced their engagement in October 2017 after a year of dating. They met when Jonas messaged Turner on Instagram in November 2016 following suggestions from mutual friends that they should meet.
