Confirmed: Sam Frost and Sasha Mielczarek have split

BACHELORETTE Sam Frost and her TV beau Sasha Mielczarek have officially called it quits after months of rumours of a breakup.

SASHA Mielczarek says he is “absolutely heartbroken” over his split with Bachelorette Sam Frost, which has been confirmed by the two reality stars’ management today.

“After 18 months together, I can confirm that Sam and myself have come to a mutual decision to part ways,” Mielczarek wrote to Instagram this afternoon.

“I respect Sam wholeheartedly and cherish our new found friendship.

“It is important to stress that there is no bitterness or scandal however the distance has been challenging at times.

“This is a very difficult time for the two of us and to be honest I’m absolutely heartbroken!

“Sammy, I think you are absolutely amazing, beautiful in every way and I wish you all the best in the future.”

Mielczarek said he would continue to listen to Frost’s 2DAY FM radio show with Rove McManus, which is syndicated across the country on the Hit network, and he said he would “look forward to you killing the ratings in 2017”.

“I want to thank everyone for their love and support over the past 18 months, you have all been amazing! Now get back to your holidays and enjoy time with family and friends!” he said, ending his post with the hashtags #chinup and #timehealsallwounds.

The couple’s shared manager, Georgina Harrop, said in a statement sent to news.com.au that the pair had “just come to the realisation that the best way forward is to separate”.

“They wholeheartedly respect and cherish the friendship they have for one another, which will continue moving forward,” the statement read.

“They wish to thank everyone for their love and support over the past 18 months.”

It’s believed one of the reasons behind the split is the fact that Frost and Mielczarek live three-hours apart.

“We see each other when we can, and I’m in Sydney most weekends, but it’s taking its toll on me,” Mielczarek, who lives and works on the NSW coast, confessed to OK! Magazine earlier in the year.

Frost also told Who magazine that “long-distance can be quite challenging.”

Just hours before it was confirmed she had split from Mielczarek, Frost posted a cryptic message on Instagram.

The TV and radio star shared a photo of a sunset on Instagram and wrote: “Christmas isn’t always sunshine and rainbows for everyone. I’m sending nothing but good vibes, love, light & happiness. I promise 2017 is going to be YOUR year.”

While many fans thought Frost’s caption was just a positive message, the post has taken on a new light now the split has been confirmed.

The couple, who fell in love on the first season of The Bachelorette in 2015, have been plagued by rumours of a breakup for months.

In October, Frost blasted New Idea in a scathing Facebook post for publishing a story claiming that she had split from her boyfriend.

“New Idea get a f***ing life!” Frost wrote before deleting her Twitter and Facebook accounts.

“For the one millionth time, Sash & I have not split. In fact we are stronger than ever … Social media isn’t the real world. The media isn’t the real world. What’s real is the time you spend with your partner, the challenges you work through & the unconditional love and support we have for one another,” she wrote.

“We actually prefer to keep social media out of our relationship, because that is what works for us. Sash & I are incredibly happy together, we don’t have to prove the strength of our relationship for the entertainment of strangers via the fake bulls**t world of social media. Next week you’ll be reporting we are getting married. Or expecting a baby. It’s absolutely pathetic!!”

It’s understood the couple split a few weeks ago with Frost last sharing a photo with Mielczarek on Instagram five weeks ago.
