‘None of you know sh*t’: Riverdale stars Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse address breakup rumours

Have they or haven’t they? That’s the question Riverdale fans are asking after Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse appeared to troll the internet over split rumours.

Riverdale stars Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse have hit back after reports that they’ve broken up. So have they ... or haven’t they?

The former couple (or possibly, still a couple) appeared to address their status of their relationship today.

“BREAKING: A reliable source has confirmed that none of you know sh*t,” Reinhart captioned an Instagram photo of the pair posing on the front cover of W magazine.

Sprouse also chimed in on his own post: “UNPRECEDENTED: Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart consume the flesh of ‘reliable sources’ to fuel their bacchanalian sex cult,” Sprouse wrote alongside the cover photo.

Looking very much like a couple on the cover, Reinhart, 22, and Sprouse, 26, opened up about their relationship and why they have kept it out of the spotlight (though the magazine is out today, the publication noted that the interviews were done in May).

“We’re acknowledging that we’re in a relationship, but it’s a small part of who we are as people. We want our own separate identities,” Reinhart told W.

“Now that I’m X amount of years in, I do appreciate the privacy we have, that he’s encouraged me to take,” she added.

“No one knows how long we’ve been together, and no one will until we’re ready to say it. No one knows how we fell in love, except for our close friends and us. It’s really special.”

This week, it was reported that Reinhart and Sprouse had split after dating for two years.

The co-stars also attended San Diego Comic-Con last weekend, where Sprouse was floating around the party, chain-smoking cigarettes and talking to everyone, while Reinhart stayed close and laid low with their Riverdale co-stars, according to Page Six.

Speaking to W, Reinhart and Sprouse opened up about the state of their relationship — though the US fashion magazine noted that the pair were interviewed separately for the cover story — released today, based on an interview done in May (months before they split).

Reinhart also opened up to W about the downsides of fame.

“I don’t handle it super well,” she said. “I am a very paranoid person now because of it. I watch people watching me. I look at their faces to see if they’re looking at me, if they know who I am. It’s not because I want to be recognised; I’m just trying to prepare myself. It can be startling when they come up to you when you’re not expecting it.”

The breakup reports included from a source who told told E! News: “Lili and Cole broke up earlier this summer. The two are not living together this season”.

Reinhart and Sprouse were first linked at the same Comic-Con party two years ago when they were spotted kissing.

They remained coy about their relationship until May 2018 when they made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala.
