Modern Family star Julie Bowen has split from hubby after 13 years of marriage
RARELY seen out together in public, the heartbreaking news of the couple’s divorce comes after 13 years of marriage and three children.
MODERN Family actor Julie Bowen, 47, has separated from her husband, real estate developer Scott Phillips.
While exact details about the split are yet to emerge, People has confirmed that the couple is calling it quits after 13 years of marriage.
They have three children together, Oliver, 10 and twins John and Gustav, 8.
The pair were last seen together publicly in February 2017 at a Harlem Globetrotters game in Los Angeles they attended with their kids.
However, suspicions were raised when Phillips didn’t accompany the TV star to the Emmy Awards in 2016. Later justifying her husband’s absence, she said: “We just had our anniversary on the day of the Emmys ... he’s come every year, he’s been so supportive and this year he was playing in a tennis tournament and I wasn’t nominated as an individual so I said, ‘What do you want to do on our anniversary?’ I mean it’s such an honour to be nominated and to go, but it’s tough to be a purse holder.”
Bowen is a star of the hit TV series Modern Family, playing matriarch Claire Dunphy and earning about $65,000 per episode.
Having won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series for five straight years, with Bowen herself receiving six nominations, Modern Family will likely end after its 10th season when most of the cast’s contracts will expire.
