Mel B now has a ‘respectful’ relationship with Eddie Murphy
THE former Spice Girl has revealed that she does have a relationship with the father of her eight-year-old daughter, Angel.
MEL B’S baby daddy drama with Eddie Murphy is officially over.
The former Spice Girl revealed during the Allegedly with Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss podcast that she does have a relationship with the father of her eight-year-old daughter, Angel.
“I do, but it’s very respectful,” she said.
“She sees [Mel B’s husband] Stephen [Belafonte] as her dad. He’s been there since the beginning.”
While the 40-year-old America’s Got Talent judge also shared that she and her daughter visit Murphy, 54, for dinner, their road to stability was far from smooth.
After Mel B welcomed her first child with the comedian in April 2007, Murphy denied that he was the father.
“I don’t know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test,” he stated at the time.
A DNA test ultimately confirmed Murphy’s paternity and eventually built a solid relationship with his daughter.
“We go over there as a family, we have dinners together, everything is fine … now. He’s a great guy,” Mel B told The Guardian Weekend in 2014.
While Belafonte also earned a spot for family dinners, she credited her spouse’s special talents for luring her out of the lady pond.
“I was with a woman for four years,” she said.
“My husband’s really good at what he does. So now I’m converted back.”
And though she may share a dressing room with Heidi Klum on America’s Got Talent, seeing the blonde bombshell nude hasn’t swayed her ways.
“She stands around naked and says ‘look.’ I don’t — that’s just for my husband. That means she’s dying to see it all,” Mel B revealed.
“She said to me the other day, ‘I never slept with a woman.’ I said, ‘you have to add it to your bucket list.’”
