Mel B files for divorce from husband Stephen Belafonte

THE former Spice Girl has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband Stephen Belafonte, months shy of their 10 year anniversary.

MEL B and her husband Stephen Belafonte are reportedly calling it quits after 10 years of marriage.

According to documents obtained by ET, the former Spice Girl has filed for divorce from Belafonte, just a few months shy of their anniversary.

Film producer Stephen Belafonte and singer Melanie Brown are divorcing after almost 10 years of marriage.

The documents cite their separation date as December 28, 2016.

Despite the separation date listed as last year, Mel B took to Instagram in February to gush about her now former partner.

Belafonte also sang the praises of Brown on Instagram on January 30 writing “When you get a facetime call from the super sexy and talented star @officialmelb from the longest running Broadway show @chicagomusical and you realise how lucky of a hubby I am.”

The pair married in a secret ceremony in Las Vegas in 2007 after five months of dating.

They share a five-year-old daughter Madison Belafonte.

According to the documents, Mel B is also seeking joint physical and legal custody of their daughter and is blocking any spousal support.
