Marion Cotillard, accused of having an affair with Brad Pitt, is ‘pregnant with second child’
ACTRESS Marion Cotillard, who’s been accused of having an affair with Brad Pitt, has spoken in no uncertain terms.
FRENCH actress Marion Cotillard has broken her silence, after being labelled ‘the other woman’ in the divorce of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
The 40-year-old star released a lengthy statement, slamming reports she and her Allied co-star Brad Pitt had had an affair.
“This is going to be my first and only reaction to the whirlwind news that broke 24 hours ago and that I was swept up into. I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiraling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up,” she began.
“Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need. Secondly to those who have indicated that I am devastated, I am very well thank you. This crafted conversation isn’t distressing. And to all the media and the haters who are quick to pass judgment, I sincerely wish you a swift recovery. Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment. With all my love Marion”
Those close to the Parisian actress have also stepped up to defend her. She has dated French actor/director/writer Guillaume Canet since 2007 and he’s the father of her five-year-old son, Marcel.
“Marion and Guillaume are blissfully happy, and these kind of claims are not what Marion wants to be hearing,” insiders said.
“Everyone in Paris is reporting that Marion is having another baby, and she looks absolutely blooming right now. She’s said that all she wants to do is to enjoy some quality time with Guillaume and their boy. Claims that she’s now cheating on Guillaume with Brad will leave her absolutely devastated. This doesn’t sound like her at all.”
Yesterday, The New York Post claimed that Jolie 41, filed for divorce from Pitt after a private investigator discovered there was something going on between him and his co-star as they filmed in the UK.
The film’s director, Robert Zemeckis, claimed earlier this year that chemistry between the two stars was “electric”.
Jolie is said to have decided to leave her partner of 12 years just last week following an incident that has yet to be revealed.
“The final divorce decision was only made one week ago. An incident took place and prompted [Angelina] to act and file,” a source told Us Weekly. “She still says Brad is the love of her life, and the decision has weighed heavy on her heart. Her priority now is the children.”
The source also revealed yesterday that Pitt only found out his wife had started divorce proceedings on Monday, the day she filed and the day before the news broke.
The speed at which she started her split from Pitt also came as a shock, as they were only spotted out together in public three weeks ago while shopping with son Knox.
TMZ also reported that Jolie’s decision was solely to do with the wellbeing of their six children — Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne.
