Lily James seen kissing married co-star, Dominic West

English actress Lily James has been photographed in passionate scenes with her married co-star, Dominic West, whose wife is reportedly “heartbroken”.

Married actor Dominic West and his co-star Lily James have been photographed kissing in Rome.

West, 50, who is best known for playing Noah Solloway in TV drama The Affair, was spotted cosying up to the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again actress, 31, while on a lunch date in the Italian capital at the weekend.

In pictures obtained by the Daily Mail, the actors, who are shooting BBC miniseries The Pursuit of Love - based off the beloved novel of the same name - in the UK, were seen wearing face masks as they rode an electric scooter together.

They were also snapped on a romantic al fresco lunch date where West was seen kissing James on the forehead as he caressed her face. They were joined by manager, Angharad Wood.

In the miniseries, West is believed to be playing the father of James’ character, Linda.

West has been married to Irish landscape designer Catherine Fitzgerald since 2010, and the couple have four children together.

The Sunreports Fitzgerald, 49, has been left “devastated and heartbroken” over the photos. The publication also claims West is ignoring his wife’s phone calls, and that the pair are “very much together”.

“She’s totally shocked because she didn’t know anything was going on. They were very much together, so this is completely out of the blue,” a source said.

“She thought they had a good marriage and now it’s probably over.”

West wasn’t wearing his wedding ring in the intimate images with James.

This isn’t the first project West and James have worked on together, after the pair appeared alongside each other in the stage production of Othello in 2011.

James, who starred on Downton Abbey, was most recently linked to Captain America star Chris Evans, after the pair enjoyed an ice cream date in London in July.

She refused to confirm whether or not she was dating Evans in an interview last month with Harper’s Bazaar.

“Don’t be obsessed by boys!” she told the publication when asked to share the advice she’d give her past self. “Hang out with your girl mates.”

There were also reports James had rekindled her five-year romance with her The Crown co-star Matt Smith however it appears that relationship is officially over.

“They have gone back and forth this year trying to sort things out between them because they both have so much love for each other,” a source told The Sun.

“But unfortunately it just isn’t working and they have mutually decided to just close this chapter of their lives.”

James had her breakout film role in the 2015 Disney remake of Cinderella, while West’s long list of credits includes Chicago, 300 and Punisher: War Zone.

He earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role on The Affair, which is about a man who cheats on his wife with a younger woman.

Discussing the series in 2016, West told the Evening Standard women should “turn a blind eye” to brief affairs.

“I think women should be more indulgent of affairs. I really do. It’s daft to kick someone out over a fling. Isn’t it?,” he stated.

“Everyone should turn a blind eye to men’s behaviour between the ages of 40 and 50. Let it all blow over.”
