Kevin Costner is speaking about his and Christine Baumgartner’s split for the first time, reports Page Six.

“This is a horrible place to be, but this is where we’re at,” the Yellowstone star told Access Hollywood following his child support win on Friday.

“It feels so bad,” the actor, 68, said outside of the courtroom.

“We’re talking about somebody I love on the other side. I just can’t.”

When the outlet asked whether Costner “still has love” for his estranged wife, he replied, “Of course”.

The Oscar winner noted he “wasn’t … laughing” about their divorce proceedings despite cracking a joke on the stand.

Baumgartner’s lawyer had accused Costner of making more money than he previously stated, with him quipping, “We’ll have to have a treasure hunt to find it”.

While the Golden Globe winner has addressed his and the handbag designer’s contentious split on the stand — and in court documents — his remarks on Friday marked his first direct quotes about the break-up since Baumgartner filed for divorce in May.

The former couple have since engaged in messy accusations, with Costner even claiming his ex is dating his close friend Josh Connor, with whom she went on holidays in July.

Costner accused Baumgartner of receiving $31,000 in cash from the financier.

The model, for her part, alleged via her lawyer that Costner was “withholding” evidence of his finances, a statement he later denied on the stand.

She filed a request earlier this week that her ex pay $US271,000 ($A419,000) in monthly instalments for their three kids — Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13 — which she later reduced to $US250,000 ($A387,000).

Notably, Baumgartner declared at the time that luxury is in the teenagers’ “DNA at this point”.

On Friday, however, Costner was ordered to pay only $US97,000 ($A150,000) per month in child support, according to TMZ.

Baumgartner, who initially asked in June for $US384,000 ($A594,000) a month, has yet to speak about the Emmy winner’s court win.

She and Costner were married in September 2004 after five years of dating. She signed a prenuptial agreement at the time, which required her to move out of their family home post-split.

While Costner claimed in June that Baumgartner was refusing to vacate, a judge upheld the prenup and ordered her out the following month.

At the time, Page Six obtained pictures of U-Haul trucks moving Baumgartner to a “smaller home” on their Santa Barbara, California, property.

“She is staying in the area to not disrupt the kids’ lives,” a source told us of the “temporary solution,” alleging Baumgartner was “still looking” for a new place.
