Katie Holmes is reportedly “getting close” with Jason Segel — who once seriously dated Holmes’ Dawson’s Creek co-star Michelle Williams — according to Star.

One of Holmes’ friends told the magazine the former Mrs Cruise is “so smitten” with Segel that “she thinks he may be The One.”

Segel has “already bonded with Katie’s eight-year-old daughter Suri,” the source said, adding that the How I Met Your Mother actor is “considering relocating from LA to New York to be closer to Katie.”

But a representative for the Batman Begins star has denied there is any truth to the rumours. “The story is completely untrue,” Holmes’ rep Leslie Sloane told Us Weekly.

“The two have not spoken since she appeared on How I Met Your Mother.”

The pair met on the set of the now-concluded sitcom back in 2011 when Holmes filmed a guest-starring role.

Rocking the boat ... Holmes starred alongside Segel’s former girlfriend Michelle Williams in Dawsons’s Creek.

Segel dated Williams from 2012 to 2013, and it was reported that the pair were close to getting hitched.

Holmes was last linked to Jamie Foxx.
