JLo issues fiery response to split rumours with video montage

Jennifer Lopez has sensationally clapped back to rumours about her split from A-Rod, posting a feisty video. WARNING: Strong language.

JLo has responded to swirling split rumours surrounding her relationship with Alex Rodriguez in the most JLo way imaginable.

Posting a carefully curated video montage featuring glimpses of her film career, sexy selfies and music accomplishments – as well as a handful of recent headlines about the rumoured split – the artist, 51, clapped back at reports her engagement is on the rocks with a simple message.

In a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, she included a short clip of her saying “you’re dumb” after a series of headlines featured in the still just before it.

Set perfectly synched to hip hop artist Saweetie’s track Pretty B**ch Freestyle, JLo shared footage from her films Hustlers and Selena, to her appearance at US President Joe Biden’s inauguration in January, screenshots of past social media posts and – in a pointed message – the biggest headlines about her and A-Rod that emerged over the weekend.

Headlines featured in the video included Page Six’s “Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez break up, call off two-year engagement” published on Friday, March 12, and TMZ’s “A-Rod … I’M NOT SINGLE …”.

After the headlines displayed briefly, the video cuts to a one-second clip of JLo saying “You’re dumb” from a 2020 Vanity Fair video.

“Sunday brunch playlist,” Jennifer captioned her video.

JLo and A-Rod, 45, who retired from Major League Baseball in 2016, have been together for four years. They were engaged in 2019, but over the weekend, sources close to the couple claimed they had ended things.

Lopez has 12-year-old twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Rodriguez is the dad of two daughters aged 16 and 12 with ex Cynthia Scurtis.

The pair released a joint statement to Reuters on Saturday confirming they were working through a few issues but weren’t calling it quits.

“All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things,” the statement read.

It comes after Lopez revealed in December they’d postponed their wedding twice.

“We had to cancel the wedding … because of COVID, because of the quarantine. And we actually did it twice, which people don’t know,” she said.

Now, the couple have been plagued by cheating rumours, with Page Six reporting Rodriguez had been FaceTiming with Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy.

“The Madison LeCroy scandal was the reason they finally broke up. There were already problems, but Jennifer was really embarrassed by it,” a source told Page Six on Friday.

However, in a video obtained by TMZ over the weekend, A-Rod is seen telling a paparazzi he’s “not single,” before seemingly calling his fiance and calling her “baby”.

After being asked if JLo was on the phone, A-Rod laughed and nodded his head.
