Jennifer Lopez says getting along with Marc Anthony is the hardest work she does
JENNIFER Lopez has opened up about her marriage to Marc Anthony, saying that when it ended “it was not easy to find forgiveness”.
AS FAR as famous exes are concerned, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony seem to get along pretty well, but that’s because they both put in the work.
“When my marriage ended, it was not easy to find forgiveness,” the Jenny From The Block singer, 46, recently told W magazine.
Lopez was disappointed when the couple’s marriage fell apart, but she knew that nothing good would come from brooding over the failure, especially with two children, twins Max and Emme, to think about.
“I hung in there for seven years,” Lopez said, “I knew very quickly that it wasn’t the right thing.
“It wasn’t the dream that I had hoped for, and it would have been easier to fan the flames of resentment, disappointment, and anger,” she continued.
“But Marc is the father of my children [8-year-old twins], and that’s never going away. So, I have to work to make things right. And that is, by far, the hardest work I do.”
Lopez and Anthony, 47, started dating in early 2004 and married in June of that year.
In July 2011, the couple announced that they had split up, with Anthony officially filing for divorce the next year.
