Is this the real reason Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx won’t go public?
THEIR alleged long-term relationship has been one of Hollywood’s biggest open secrets for years. Is this why the loved-up pair don’t go public?
KATIE Holmes and Jamie Foxx’s alleged long-term romance has been one of Hollywood’s biggest open secrets for several years.
Now, new reports have emerged that shed light on exactly why the loved-up pair might be keeping their alleged relationship under wraps.
Radar Online reports that Holmes’ divorce from ex-husband Tom Cruise included one strict clause: She was not allowed to officially ‘date’ for five years after the papers were signed.
“Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce,” Radar quotes a source as saying.
“She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri,” the insider said. “Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms — and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself.”
If she breaks the terms of the contract, Radar reports, Holmes will lose out on the money.
Cruise and Holmes were wed in 2006 the same year their daughter Suri was born. Their divorce was finalised in July 2012 — so if Radar’s report is accurate, Holmes could be free to date publicly by this time next year.
Holmes and Foxx have been either ignoring or at times flat-out denying rumours of a romance for three years now, but it took a loose-lipped famous friend of Foxx’s to finally confirm their pairing back in June.
Speaking on the Allegedly podcast, former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Claudia Jordan was asked about her relationship with Foxx.
“[He’s a] good friend of mine. Never [hooked up with him],” she said.
When asked about his relationship with Holmes, Jordan said, “He is very happy with her. I like that he seems very happy.”
She later backtracked on her statements, claiming she had been talking out of turn.
