Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou confirms romance with co-star James Stewart
Ada Nicodemou has lifted the lid on her rumoured romance with co-star James Stewart, where she shot down speculation about the timeline.
Ada Nicodemou has confirmed she is in a relationship with her Home and Away co-star James Stewart.
News of the pair’s rumoured romance first hit headlines in early May, just days after Nicodomeou’s split from Adam Rigby, her partner of eight years, emerged.
In a new interview with Stellar magazine published Sunday, the Australian actor confirmed, “Jimmy and I are together, yes.”
“At 47, you know what you want and what you don’t. It’s only early days,” Nicodemou added.
“It’s very recent and very unexpected. I’m super happy. It’s really lovely.”
The couple, who play husband-and-wife Leah Patterson and Justin Morgan on the show, were photographed kissing in Sydney on Anzac Day, in photos which weren’t made public until several weeks later.
As for Stewart, 48, he and his now ex-wife, former Home And Away star Sarah Roberts, quietly split and finalised their divorce in March after five years of marriage.
Nicodemou, who has starred on the Channel 7 soap since 2000, filmed wedding scenes with Stewart for the show last year, with the fairytale marriage episode airing in April.
The actor shut down speculation they were romantically involved during shooting.
“There weren’t genuine feelings then,” Nicodemou clarified. “It was shot last year. But I think whenever you’re watching any TV couple, you’re always wondering if they really do have feelings.
“We’ve always respected each other. We’ve known each other since [1998 soap opera] Breakers. Jimmy is an amazing actor. “I’ve loved working with him for five years and I think our scenes are great. I always like going to work – we push ourselves, and push each other, in a really good way.”
Prior to her relationship with Rigby, Nicodemou was married to Chrys Xipolitas from 2007 to 2016 and they share one child together, 11-year-old son Johnas.
Stewart was in a long-term relationship with Australian actor Jessica Marais before he married Roberts.
The former couple, who share daughter Scout, were together for six years before their split in 2015.
