Gwyneth Paltrow’s mum Blythe Danner ‘really upset’ by daughter’s split with Chris Martin

GWYNETH Paltrow’s mum Blythe Danner is said to have begged her daughter not to break up with Chris Martin.

IF THE showbiz world is reeling from the news of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s split, they’re not the only ones.

Blythe Danner, Paltrow’s mum, is said to be very emotional about the breakup.

According to Us Weekly, Danner is very fond of Martin.

A source told the magazine: “[She’s] really upset. She loves Chris. She begged Gwyneth not to end it, that he’s a good man. But Gwyneth had to do what she felt was best.”

The Hollywood actor and Coldplay frontman announced they were separating this week after 11 years together. The couple have two children.

The source added: “They really tried to make it work. You could tell something was wrong, though, over the last few months. You could see a sadness in each of their eyes.”

Danner, 71, was married to Paltrow’s father, Bruce, for 33 years until his death in 2002.
