Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted kissing her ex Donovan Leitch in September last year

JUST a day after Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced their separation, rumours are swirling that the actor’s ex may have been the cause.

AS the world mulls over what went wrong with Gwyneth and Chris, could a little throwaway gesture point to the writing on the wall for the separated couple?

RadarOnline.com is reporting that a seemingly innocuous shot taken back in September of last year, which showed Paltrow giving ex-boyfriend Donovan Leitch a kiss may have hinted at trouble.

The photo was taken while the two took in a baseball game together in Los Angeles, during which Paltrow was accompanied by her kids, Apple and Moses.

Martin was not present, and had no comment about the shots when asked about the incident later. Paltrow, meanwhile, reportedly described the day as an “outing between friends”.

Leitch was married to Scottish model Kirsty Hume at the time, although the couple later announced their own separation not long after.

Paltrow and Martin in 2003, the year they got married.

Leitch, who dated Paltrow prior to Brad Pitt, was also in involved with Bangles singer Susanna Hoffs in the late 1980s.

In the aftermath of the duo’s shock split (Paltrow’s website crashed after the announcement went public), the two did what any warring exes do – they took their kids on holiday to the Bahamas. All part of their conscious uncoupling perhaps?

Martin and Paltrow were all smiles in January this year.
