Good Morning America’s TJ Holmes joked about his wife leaving him before ‘affair’ with co-star Amy Robach emerged

The Good Morning America ‘affair’ saga has taken a new turn after one of the stars’ social media posts about his wife re-emerged.

Good Morning America’s T.J. Holmes joked about giving his estranged wife Marilee Fiebig “plenty of reasons, excuses, and opportunities” to leave their marriage years ahead of his and co-star Amy Robach’s alleged affair.

In March 2020, Holmes posted a 10th anniversary tribute to his immigration lawyer wife, which has gone viral amid news of his alleged romance, Page Six reported.

“10 years ago, Marilee Fiebig married me,” the former CNN anchor, 45, captioned throwback wedding photos at the time.

“And despite my best efforts, she remained married to me the past 10 years.

“That’s not hyperbole. I’m not being dramatic,” he continued. “I gave her plenty of reasons, excuses, and opportunities to walk her fine a** out the doooooooor.”

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes had an affair, according to reports

The Daytime Emmy nominee, who shares daughter Sabine, nine, with Ms Fiebig, went on to praise the attorney’s “built-in black woman superpower” in showing him “grace and patience that’s incomprehensible”.

Holmes added that “asking her for another 10 years would be asking too much,” calling 10 months “a stretch” and 10 weeks “lucky”.

He referred to himself as Ms Fiebig’s “decade challenge,” concluding: “If she puts up with me another 10 days, I’d be grateful.”

Twitter users reacted to the throwback social media upload on Thursday, with one slamming Holmes’ post as “disturbing on so many levels”.

Another wrote: “It comes off very much like, ‘tried to get rid of her many times but she just won’t take the hint.”

The journalist wed Ms Fiebig in March 2010, three years after his divorce from ex-wife Amy Ferson, with whom Holmes shares daughter Brianna and son Jaiden.

News broke on Wednesday that Holmes and his Good Morning America co-anchor, 49, have allegedly been having a months-long affair.

An insider told Page Six that Holmes and Robach “were very careful” to keep their relationship “secret,” noting that the ABC personalities separated from their respective spouses in August. (Robach has been married to Andrew Shue since 2010.)

“The producers at GMA are shocked to hear they are having an affair,” the source noted.

Reps for Robach and Holmes haven’t returned Page Six’s numerous requests for comment. Both of their Instagram accounts have been deactivated.
