George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin set to marry this week
HOLLYWOOD is set to lose another of its most eligible bachelors, with reports that George Clooney is set to marry girlfriend Amal Alamuddin.
GEORGE Clooney is one step closer to walking down the aisle with Amal Alamuddin after the British lawyer reportedly filed official wedding paperwork in London.
The couple is said to be planning to wed in Italy next week and the pair obtained its marriage licence in August.
The nuptials are now believed to be close after Alamuddin reportedly filed paperwork in London, a move which is necessary for all British citizens who are planning to wed abroad, according to the New York Daily News.
The publication reports Alamuddin gave formal notice of her intention to marry during a visit to London’s Chelsea Registry office.
Alamuddin was also spotted visiting a high profile wedding dress designer in London this week.
Clooney has been married once before, to actor Talia Balsam between 1989 and 1993.
Long regarded as one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors, the 53-year-old actor was dubbed the “Sexiest Man Alive” by People magazine in 1997 and 2006.
One of the few other actors to achieve that status, Brad Pitt, is a longstanding friend and collaborator of Clooney’s.
Pitt married his longtime love Angelina Jolie in a ceremony in France in late August.
