Engaged Ruby Rose thought girlfriend Phoebe Dahl’s wedding proposal ‘was a prank’
RUBY Rose has admitted she thought she was “being pranked” when girlfriend Phoebe Dahl got down on one knee.
RUBY Rose has shared intimate details of her engagement to Phoebe Dahl, admitting she thought she was “being pranked” when Phoebe got down on one knee.
After announcing the news over the weekend the Aussie DJ and media personality appeared on KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O this morning and spoke about the couple’s pranking hijinks that led to Dahl popping the question.
“This was a prank that went horribly right,” Rose said, adding that Dahl’s family members are renowned for their practical jokes.
“It’s Roald Dahl’s family, of course they’re going to be kooky and clever.”
Phoebe is the granddaughter of renowned children’s book author Roald Dahl, and runs her own line of charitable fashion called FairCloth Clothing.
“She broke into my house with flowers and a card at like five in the morning, she gets down on one knee and says ‘Ruby, will you marry me’ ... I was so convinced it was a prank,” Rose admitted, adding that Dahl had already rejected her proposal three times.
“We’re cut from the same cloth but she’s very much the cheeky, mischievous one.
“This is my soulmate, this is the woman of my life, we’re so in love,” Rose, who turns 28 on Thursday, gushed.
The loved-up couple, who both have an enormous following on social media, shared the news with fans via Instagram. Rose uploaded the below photo of two ‘I DO’ canvases.
The caption reads: “After asking her to be mine 3 times always to be rejected I swore I’d never ask again... then this morning at 6 am she broke into my house with flowers, coffee and a question... and I said.. go f*ck yourself... just kidding I said.”
Rose was previously engaged to model Catherine McNeil, but the pair called off their high-profile romance in 2010.
