Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has coined the term “self-partnered” after panicking about not having yet started start a family.

Emma admitted to being “stressed and anxious” in the run-up to her 30th birthday in April, but has now made peace with being single.

She told British Vogue: “I was like, ‘Why does everyone make such a big fuss about turning 30? This is not a big deal.’

“Cut to 29, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I feel so stressed and anxious.’

“And I realise it’s because there is suddenly this bloody influx of subliminal messaging around.

“If you have not built a home, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby, and you are turning 30, and you’re not in some incredibly secure, stable place in your career, or you’re still figuring things out — there’s just this incredible amount of anxiety.”

She added: “I never believed the whole ‘I’m happy single’ spiel. I was like, ‘This is totally spiel.’

“It took me a long time, but I’m very happy (being single). I call it being self-partnered.”

Emma split from tech entrepreneur William Knight, her last long-term boyfriend, in 2017 after a two-year relationship.

She briefly dated ex- Glee actor Chord Overstreet, 30, in 2018 and was linked to former Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton, 32, earlier this year.

She was spotted kissing a mystery man outside a London bakery last month.

Emma’s term draws comparison to Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s infamous use of “conscious uncoupling” to announce their divorce in 2014.

And while Watson might have given the term “self-partnered” an airing in the mainstream, it appears to have surfaced from Australian “healer” Melanie Tonia Evans, who blogged about the concept in 2015.

“That’s the level of inner work you must get to, to be (sure) … that no matter what, you are self-partnered and … prepared to be true to you — regardless of what anyone else is or isn’t being or doing,” she wrote.
