Dane Cook, 50, engaged to girlfriend Kelsi Taylor, 23

Comedian Dane Cook has announced his engagement to his girlfriend of five years, with whom he has a 27-year age gap.

Dane Cook and his longtime girlfriend, Kelsi Taylor, are engaged.

The stand-up comedian proposed last month after five years of dating.

“I was so ready to ask her. I was completely zen about it,” Cook, 50, told People. “The evening of the proposal was incredibly beautiful, the weather was perfect, sunset was spectacular, and I was just quite simply very happy.”

He added of the milestone moment, “I was asking my best friend, the woman who I’ve shared some of the greatest times of my life with, to marry me so we can start the next chapter our of lives together. I was also thinking of how absolutely stunning she looked.”

The couple have been together for five years.

Taylor showed off the ring on Instagram.

The fitness instructor, 23, told the publication she was shocked when Cook took a box out of his pocket.

“I was also just really focused on what he was saying to me because I was trying desperately to etch the words into my brain,” she recalled. “They were so beautiful, I really wanted to soak it in.”

The Employee of the Month star got down on one knee in York Beach, Maine, which held a special place in their hearts as it was one of the first places they travelled to when they first began dating.

“It’s a place I spent much time in growing up so I have such fond memories there,” Cook shared.

The Good Luck Chuck star previously shook off questions about the couple’s 27-year age gap, quipping, “The only thing you have to do is plan that your deaths will be somewhat far apart.”
