Cassandra Thorburn: Karl Stefanovic’s ex-wife sells $9 million mansion

The dream home of former married couple Karl Stefanovic and Cassandra Thorburn has sold for an eye-watering sum.

Cassandra Thorburn is celebrating a “new chapter” after selling the waterfront mansion she bought with husband Karl Stefanovic just months before their 21-year marriage ended.

On Monday night, Thorburn confirmed she had sold the five bedroom home on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself and real estate agent Piers van Hamburg.

“SOLD! Thank you Piers! A new chapter awaits,” she captioned the photo.

The property, located in the up-market suburb of Cremorne on Sydney’s North Shore, was up for grabs for just over three weeks before it was sold for “more than $9 million” to “a local family”, Domain reports.

Thorburn’s house had originally been set to officially hit the real estate market in spring with only “qualified buyers” eligible to view the property.

The lavish three-storey property had sweeping waterfront views, four bathrooms, an indoor swimming pool, steam room, wine cellar and planning approval for a jetty.

Stefanovic and Thorburn originally bought the Cremorne property for $8 million in June 2016.

The former couple purchased the home in June 2016, just months before they split.

The luxury waterfront home was listed for sale with a price guide of more than $9 million.

But just months later, the couple split, selling their longtime family home, a five-bedroom Federation house in Lindfield for $3.875 million in November 2016.

Stefanovic met shoe designer Jasmine Yarbrough at a yacht party in December 2016, with the couple tying the knot two years later in an extravagant ceremony in Mexico.

The Channel 9 host was dumped from his role as Today host while on his honeymoon with Yarbrough, amid increased scrutiny around his personal life.

Since splitting from Stefanovic journalist Thorburn has released a children’s book, appeared as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars and now is a regular guest on Studio 10.
