Cameron Diaz refutes rumours of a relationship with Drew Barrymore: ‘That makes me want to vomit in my mouth’

JUST a few months ago, Cameron Diaz declared she’d been with a woman. Now she’s using some pretty powerful words to refute a rumoured liaison with friend Drew Barrymore.

JUST a couple of months ago, Cameron Diaz was proudly proclaiming her attraction to women — but now, she’s offered up some pretty strong words to shoot down rumours of a liaison with friend and co-star Drew Barrymore.

Back in April, Diaz stated in an interview that “I think women are beautiful — absolutely beautiful. And I think that all women have been sexually attracted to another woman at some point. It’s natural to have connectivity and an appreciation for the beauty of other women.”

She went a step further on American talk show Watch What Happens Live, confirming to host Andy Cohen that she “has been with a lady.”

Since then, the rumour mill has been working overtime: could that lady be Cameron’s close friend of at least 15 years, her bisexual Charlie’s Angels co-star Drew Barrymore?

Apparently not.

The Huffington Post reports that, in the August edition of US magazine Harper’s Bazaar, Diaz is asked about the rumour and quickly refutes it as “crazy”.

After her Watch What Happens Live appearance, “Some media outlet called for a comment and they wanted to know whether I was with Drew. Literally, I said, ‘That makes me want to vomit in my mouth.’”

A simple no would suffice, Cam. But as she explained, it wasn’t the thought of being with a woman the made her feel sick — it was the thought of being with a woman she considered family.

“That’s like saying I’m having sex with my sister. Are you crazy? I wouldn’t even ménage with her!” Diaz told Harper’s Bazaar.

And it seems Diaz sees sexuality is a fluid thing - even if she is keeping her fluids to herself where bestie Drew is concerned.

“Everybody tries things and sees things and checks them out, and either walks away or walks further in. It’s life — it’s what people do. I’m not going to tell people what I’ve done, but I’m also not going to say, ‘No! I would never!’ If I said that, I’d be shaming myself and shaming other people’s choices. I don’t want to add any stigma to someone’s choice.”
