Bobbi Kristina Brown marries Nick Gordon
WHITNEY Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown has married a young man who the late singer helped raise.
Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, has tied the knot with her friend Nick Gordon.
A representative for the family confirmed Friday that the 20-year-old Brown married Gordon. But the rep did not know where or when the marriage took place.
Although the couple are not biologocially related, the relationship has prompted comment because the pair were raised together.
An ABC America report from 2012 states that the singer took Gordon in after his mother became unable to care for him.
The report quoted Houston's brother Michael as saying Gordon was "like a son" to the singer.
Brown tweeted about her marriage on Thursday, posting a photo of the couple wearing wedding rings with hands on top of each other. She wrote in the caption, ''#HappilyMarried. So #InLove. If you didn't get it the first time that is.''
In 2012, Brown caused a stir when she was spotted wearing a sparkly bauble on her ring finger. But it turned out she was wearing her mother's ring and was not engaged.
Brown defended her relationship with Gordon in a Facebook post last year when announcing that they were engaged.
"I'm tired of hearing people say 'eww your engaged to your brother or if Whitney was still alive would we be together or would she approve of this.' Let me clear up something, we aren't even real brother and sister nor is he my adoptive brother. My mom never adopted him. In fact, mommy was the one who even said that she knew that we were going to start dating. My mom knows me better than any of you," she posted.
"People need to seriously stop judging my relationship. Pretty sure it's my own decision who I want to be with. It is my life and not yours. The decisions I make have nothing to do with you."
The late Houston left her entire estate to her daughter, her only child.
