Ben Affleck’s sweet Mother’s Day tribute to ex Jennifer Garner

The Batman star paid tribute to ex-wife Jennifer Garner, describing her as a person who has “shown me the meaning of love”.

They might have split back in 2015 but Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are still on very good terms.

In an Instagram post celebrating Mother’s Day, Affleck paid tribute to Garner in the sweetest way possible pledging a charitable donation in honour of the actress and his mum Christine Affleck.

Sharing a photo of Garner walking down the street with his mother, Affleck wrote: “Happy Mother’s Day to the two incredible mothers who have shown me the meaning of love.”

“Today I am making donations to two organisations in their honor: @cut50’s #DignityForIncarceratedWomen campaign, a national initiative to help reduce the prison population while making our communities safer, and @NationalBailout, an incredible organisation that works with groups all over the country on Mother’s Day to bail out black moms and caregivers, provide supportive services and fellowship opportunities to help end money bail and pre-trial detention.”

Affleck’s classy move won him plenty of praise on Instagram, with a few of his fans even begging him to “get back together with Garner”.

Garner and Affleck began dating in 2004 and married in 2005 before announcing their separation a decade later.

The former Hollywood power couple share three children together; Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10 and Samuel, 7.

Despite finalising their divorce last year and moving on with new partners, Affleck and Garner have remained devoted to each other both as friends and parents.

Last August Garner was seen driving Affleck to rehab for alcohol addiction after reportedly staging an intervention.

Earlier this year Affleck told US breakfast show Today that he still loved his “wonderful” ex-wife Garner.

“Somebody’s the mother of your kids, they’re going to be the most important, central person in your life, and that’s good.

“I hope I’m a pretty good dad,’ he added. “I certainly try very hard.

“I’m lucky they’ve got a great mum, and she helps out a great deal with making sure that we co-parent in as good a way as possible.

“Dads are so important to kids and it’s our responsibility to be there for them, to be present, to be mindful, to be attentive, to be part of their lives … to be as in it as mums.”
