Behind the scenes look at Kim Kardashian handling Kanye West’s presidential rally, Twitter meltdown

Kanye West shocked the world with last year’s public breakdown. Now, unseen footage shows what Kim was doing behind the scenes.

Kim Kardashian’s private handling of Kanye West’s presidential bid, dramatic campaign rally and Twitter rampage last year has been revealed for the first time.

Kanye, 43, officially announced his presidential bid on July 5 in a tweet. In the weeks after, he held his first campaign rally where he emotionally revealed he and Kim nearly aborted their daughter North, now 7.

Afterwards, he fled to Wyoming where he posted a barrage of tweets in which he accused Kim, 40, and her mother, Kris Jenner, of trying to “lock me up”.

He also declared he had been trying to get a divorce from Kim, the mother of his four children.

Following months of silence, the latest episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians saw Kim struggling with Kanye’s behaviour, as well as the media fallout.

“It’s no secret that everyone sees things in the media about my life with Kanye, but I’ve always been really respectful in not talking about issues that Kanye and I have,” Kim said in a confessional.

“I mean, you guys clearly see them on Twitter.

“So I’m still going to choose to not really talk about it here.”

Afterwards, speaking to her sister Khloe Kardashian and friend Malika Haqq, Kim said she was “trying to support” Kanye, but was clearly overwhelmed by the events.

“It’s been a long day. I try to just like … support him,” Kim said. “I was like, you know, I mean I don’t wanna talk about it on camera, so … I just don’t want to talk about Kanye or anything.”

Khloe then said to camera, “Kimberley handles things really really private, and to herself. She’s someone who is calm and cool, and we all respect that. But I know because she’s not talking about it, even to us privately, that it’s really affecting her.”

Later in the episode, Kim is heard speaking to a minder on the phone about Kanye, who was at their Wyoming ranch while Kim was in Los Angeles.

“I’m happy to come, I can get on a plane tonight. When I talk to him, he says no,” Kim was heard saying.

“I’m happy to come tomorrow, next week, whatever he wants. I’m still happy to come and be supportive and chill with him, and I know he needs that.”

After the conversation, Kim fronts a confessional where she said the situation was “frustrating”.

“Kanye’s been in Wyoming. He’s been posting a lot of things on social media, so that is a little bit frustrating,” she said.

“But you just have to kind of separate yourself from what’s going on at home, and what’s going on on the internet.

“So I’m trying to go to Wyoming so I can be with him.”

Later on at the family’s holiday house in Malibu, Khloe asked Kim how she and Kanye were doing.

“Moseying on along,” Kim said.

Kourtney then reveals she spoke to Kanye on the phone earlier, where the rapper admitted he shouldn’t have posted on Twitter.

“He said, ‘It would be nice to be able to say things.’ I said, ‘Yeah, say what you want to say, but did you have to say those tweets publicly?’ And he said, ‘No you’re right, I shouldn’t say it publicly. It’s better to say it one-on-one.’”

KHLOE GETS CANDID ABOUT TRISTAN

Khloe earlier revealed she was trying for another baby with NBA star Tristan Thompson through IVF.

The couple welcomed their first child, True Thompson, two years ago, but following several cheating scandals surrounding Tristan, they split and still remained platonic at the time of filming this episode.

This didn’t stop Scott Disick from commenting on one of Khloe’s Instagram photos, ‘Tristan is a lucky man!’ which sent the media and fans into a negative frenzy.

“I’m getting bombarded with text messages, and my publicist is saying, ‘Oh my gosh, all these media outlets want answers,’” Khloe said.

“And honestly, me and Tristan are figuring things out, but I’m still trying to navigate my way through my feelings.”

Scott then defends Tristan, saying, “Finally, this guy is being a really good guy. Yes, Tristan f***ed up, but what about him? There’s gonna come a point where he doesn’t want to feel like you’re embarrassed of him still.”

Khloe said she hadn’t been able to make up her mind about how she feels because of all the “outside noise”.

“I don’t want my peers, people I love and respect, to look at me and be like, ‘Oh this b**ch’.

“When all this outside noise is not around me, we are great. Tristan and I operate fine. It’s enjoyable. It’s easy.

“But recently I would say I’m really affected by what people have to say about my relationships. I’m not even able to make up my own mind because I’m so flooded with everyone else’s opinions.”

KENDALL WANTS A BABY ‘SOON’

As the only member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan without a child, 24-year-old supermodel Kendall Jenner declared during the episode that she wants kids “soon”.

At the time of filming this part in July last year, the Victoria’s Secret model was single, though it’s rumoured she is currently dating basketball player Devin Booker.

“I am the only one in my family who does not have a kid,” Jenner said in a confessional. “During quarantine and sitting at home, naturally you get pretty bored and start thinking about a lot of things.

“Sometimes I see Stormi, and True and Chicago all playing together and I’m just like ‘Ugh.’

“I want kids badly. Soon too.”

However, her older sister Khloe, 36, said she thinks the baby fever is just “a fever”.

“I think it’s going to go back down,” she said.

KOURTNEY DOESN’T SPEAK TO EX-BOYFRIEND

In 2017, Kourtney, 41, was in an on-again, off-again two-year relationship with young model Younes Bendjima, who is 14 years her junior.

The pair have never commented on why they broke up, but fans got an insight into their split on this episode, and it seems they aren’t on the best terms.

Kourtney was grilled by Khloe and Kim as to whether or not she’s currently single, to which she said she is (this was shot before she entered her current relationship with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker).

Khloe asks, “Do you still speak to what’s his name?” seemingly referring to Bendjima.

“No, never,” Kourtney responds.

“Do you look back and think he might’ve been a little negative for you?” Khloe asked, to which Kourtney said, “Yeah. I’m feeling really content with my own way of life.”

Khloe then reveals in a confessional she was prying to try and distract Kim from her problems.

“It’s our job to distract Kim so if that means me, you know, going after Kourtney’s sex life a little bit, she’s gonna have to take one for the team.

“Kim lives for the gossip, and we’re here to make Kim happy.”
