Bachelor star Alex Nation is engaged to girlfriend Maegan Luxa
ALEX Nation first made headlines after winning Richie Strahan’s heart on The Bachelor. A year on, she’s revealed her engagement to new partner Maegan Luxa.
ALEX Nation is reportedly engaged to her girlfriend of three months Maegan Luxa, after splitting from Bachelor star Richie Strahan.
Nation and Luxa were seen kissing as they strolled alongside the ocean in Melbourne, with the former reality TV star’s new teardrop-shaped engagement ring clearly visible.
The couple have been very open about their love after first meeting in August while playing for AFL women’s team, the Frankston Bombers.
Single mother Nation has been in the public eye since winning the 2016 season of The Bachelor, although her relationship with Strahan ended just months later.
She recently opened up about what caused the split when asked by a fan on Instagram.
“Richie is a great person,” the mum-of-one replied.
“He’ll still get his ever after. We both hoped for things to work, but life just is.
“Sometimes things in life simply don’t work out for us. You cherish the nice memories and you move forward.”
She and Luxa went public with their romance in August after meeting through their shared AFL women’s team, the Frankston Bombers, with the star describing their love as a “wonderful adventure.”
“When it comes to love, my friends and family would tell you that my heart isn’t one to discriminate,” she captioned a black and white photo of her and her girlfriend on Instagram.
“I very much fall for a person and the connection that I share with them. My heart is a wild thing, it craves extraordinary adventure. It’s impulsive, sometimes a little dysfunctional but it’s big and loud and I follow it to the nth degree. What a wonderful adventure it is with her.”
Last week, Nation revealed her partner had moved in with her and her six-year-old son, Elijah, and hinted at their wedding plans.
“I feel relieved that I can finally talk about it now,” she told the Herald Sun.
“As of the last few weeks we’ve lived together. It’s been really nice. It just feels so good. Nothing forced or scary ... and if this continues to blossom and grow there’s no reason why I wouldn’t get married.”
In November, Nation celebrated the same-sex postal survey result by posting a romantic photo of her and Luxa on a beach at sunset.
