Ariana Grande confirms unlikely SNL romance with Pete Davidson
ARIANA Grande has shared an Instagram story seemingly confirming to stunned fans that she has fallen for a Saturday Night Live comedian.
POP princess Ariana Grande has only just confirmed her split from boyfriend Mac Miller after 18 months together. However, it appears that she has already moved on.
The 24-year-old shared an Instagram story of her and a mystery man toasting marshmallows together.
While the Dangerous Woman singer didn’t reveal the man’s identity, it didn’t take long for internet detectives to discover that the tattoo sleave belonging to the man in the picture matched Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson’s ink.
Davidson, also 24, was in a long-term relationship with Larry David’s daughter, Cazzie, but they confirmed their split last week.
Rumours had been swirling about Grande and Davidson after they were spotted getting cosy at the SNL after-party on May 12.
Davidson was also seen was waiting by the side of the stage as Grande performed her new single No Tears Left to Cry at the Billboard Music Awards.
“After Ariana’s performance, they were backstage and he had his arm around her,” a source told People. “They seemed very lovey-dovey. He was hanging out with her and her friends with his arm around her. She seemed quite smitten.”
Sources told People that Davidson and Grande had “just started” dating and that “it’s very casual”.
Davidson is not the first SNL player to date an A-list celebrity after they have guest starred on the show.
Weekend Update host Colin Jost recently confirmed his romance with Scarlett Johansson.
Ben Affleck is dating SNL producer Lindsay Shookus, who he met while hosting SNL.
Emma Stone is dating SNL writer Dave McCary, while former SNL star Jason Sudeikis married Olivia Wilde and had two kids with her after the pair met at a finale party for SNL.
The Handmaid’s Tale star Elisabeth Moss was briefly married former SNL star Fred Armisen for eight months after her Mad Men co-star Jon Hamm introduced them when he was on SNL. Moss called the marriage “extremely traumatic and awful and horrible”.
“One of the greatest things I heard someone say about him is, ‘He’s so great at doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.’” she said in 2012.
It seems Carrie Fisher might have been the first to hook up with those she met on SNL.
Fisher hosted in 1978 where she met boyfriend Dan Aykroyd and her later husband, Paul Simon, who was the musical guest when she hosted.
