Andrew Silverman opens up about ex-wife Lauren's affair with Simon Cowell
THE spurned husband of Simon Cowell's partner Lauren said life was "very difficult" in the wake of his ex’s affair with his former friend.
AS SIMON Cowell basks in the glow of new parenthood, the spurned husband of his partner Lauren has spoken out about the "difficult" time he faced in the wake of his ex-wifeÂs affair with his former close friend.
(Cowell and Lauren Silverman became parents to baby Eric, who was born on Valentine’s Day.)
“It was a very difficult time in my life. I learned a lot, moved forward,” Andrew Silverman told The New York Observer.
“My core business has continued to move forward. I learned a lot about myself as an individual, the importance of family. My focus has been on my son throughout the whole ordeal.”
The Silvermans are parents to eight-year-old Alex, and he says they remain committed to raising their son together.
“I think for both of us, making sure our son has a normal environment is the primary focus,” he said.
Silverman, however, says he is not envious of Cowell’s fame.
“Being in the public spotlight is not something I envy. It’s never been my way,” he said. “Privacy has tremendous value. I’ve tried to be as quiet as possible even though everyone wants to hear about this hoopla.”
Silverman said that he’s now eager to move on with his life.
“I just wanted to refocus on what I do,” he said. “I am a regular person, not a tabloid thing. It was a fascinating experience, unexpected and shocking.”
