Amber Heard filed for divorce from Johnny Depp after ‘beating’ with iPhone
AMBER Heard has been granted a restraining order on Johnny Depp, who she says beat her a day before she filed for divorce.
AMBER Heard has accused Johnny Depp of domestic violence.
Heard arrived at a Los Angeles court overnight with a bruised face and with photos taken last weekend just after the alleged incident in which she claims Depp physically assaulted her with his iPhone.
Sources told People magazine this was not “an isolated incident”.
“This was only the latest incident,” the source said.
According to Heard, Depp allegedly hit her in the face with his iPhone last weekend (the image of Heard bruised was taken after the alleged altercation) and then he offered her money to stay quiet about it.
Overnight, Heard was granted a temporary restraining order from the actor, alleging an immediate threat of harm, which requires Depp to stay 100 metres away from her until the next court hearing in late-June.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Heard claimed that Depp was verbally and physically abusive during the relationship, with the actress attributing his problems to drugs and alcohol.
In the documents, Heard claims that during her birthday party last month, Depp showed up “inebriated and high”.
She said he later threw a champagne bottle at the wall and a wine glass at her.

She claimed that the actor grabbed her by the shoulders and pushed her onto the bed. She also says he grabbed her by the hair and pushed her to the floor.
In the documents, Heard said that until last weekend, she hadn’t seen Depp for a month, and that they were talking about his mother’s death the day before.
According to TMZ, she said he “suddenly began obsessing” about something, got angry, grabbed the phone, “wound up his arm like a baseball pitcher and threw the cell phone at me striking my cheek and eye”.
A Hollywood source told the New York Post, “Johnny Depp has a substance abuse problem and this isn’t the first time this [domestic violence] has happened [to Amber].”
The alleged incident occurred one day after the death of Depp’s mother, Betty Sue Palmer.
According to TMZ, Heard also has a video that allegedly shows Depp beating her.
TMZ reports that Depp “shattered various objects” during the incident last weekend, which occurred at the couple’s apartment.
Heard was said to be on the phone with a friend during the alleged fight when Depp began to pull her phone away from her she told the person on the other line to call the police.
Depp was gone by the time they arrived but police did take a statement from Heard and wrote up a report.
The couple, who have been married for 15 months, began divorce proceedings on Monday when Heard filed a petition for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
Heard is also asking for spousal support.
Reps for Heard and Depp have not commented on latest developments.
On Thursday, Depp addressed the split in a statement to People: “Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”
Depp and Heard met while filming The Rum Diary in 2009, but announced they were a couple in 2011, after the actor’s split from French star Vanessa Paradis, the mother of his two children.
Depp has had a string of high profile girlfriends (and engagements) over the years. He was engaged to Twin Peaks Sherilyn Fenn, Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey and Heathers star, Winona Ryder.
He was also rumoured he was engaged to longtime 1990s love, model Kate Moss. The two had a notoriously volatile relationship.
In 1994, he was charged with criminal mischief after an incident at a New York hotel when he smashed up a hotel room after a fight with Moss.
The actor was handcuffed and taken away.
The charges against Depp were eventually dropped after he agreed to pay back the $14,000 in damages he caused to the hotel.
