ADELE has filed for divorce from her husband Simon Konecki, according to legal documents, raising big questions about how her massive estate will be divided.

The Sun reports, court documents lodged in Los Angeles reveal Adele has now filed for divorce.

The award-winning singer, 31, announced in April that she and charity entrepreneur Konecki were separating after three years of marriage.

A spokesperson for Adele declined to comment on the court proceedings.

The duo started dating in 2011 and were secretly married in 2016.

Adele’s fortune is estimated to be as much as £150 million ($270 million).

According to a number of media reports, the couple is not believed to have signed a pre-nuptial agreement.

Under Californian law, Konecki could be entitled to half of Adele’s assets as “community property and community debts are usually divided equally”, The Evening Standard reported.

That means Adele could be left with around £75 million.

Konecki has previously worked as an investment banker with Lehman Brothers. He quit the company in 2005, later claiming he was “earning a lot of money, but got sick of that greedy and corrupted world”.

He then launched his charity Drop4Drop, which is aimed at helping provide clean water to poor communities worldwide.

Donecki’s net worth is not known.

Speaking after their separation was confirmed earlier this year, a rep for Adele said: “They are committed to raising their son together lovingly.”

The statement came after reports the pair were living separate lives.

A source told The Sun: “This is a very sad situation — Adele and Simon had been living separate lives for some time.

“It was well known amongst their friends that this time they simply were not going to sort it out.

“They had been trying for years but eventually you have to accept that something just isn’t going to work.”

Adele and Konecki welcomed their son, Angelo, in 2012.

They tied the knot in a secret 2016 ceremony, with Adele publicly addressing the wedding for the first time during an acceptance speech at the 2017 Grammys.

Adele is one of the most successful artists of the last two decades — topping the charts all over the world.

Her 2017 world tour, which included a visit to Australia, is said to have earned her £42 million.

Tottenham-born Adele released her debut album, 19, in 2008, which contained the songs Chasing Pavements and Hometown Glory and reached number one in the UK.

Her eagerly anticipated follow-up, 2011’s 21, brought even more success thanks to the singles Someone Like You, Rolling In The Deep and Rumour Has It.

The record topped the charts in 30 countries, including the US and UK, and cemented Adele’s status as one of the world’s best-loved artists.

Adele released her most recent album, 25, in 2015, which contained the single Hello. It proved to be another critical and commercial success.

She is rumoured to be releasing another album at the end of this year, which would further boost her fortune.
