Hollywood couple spotted out to dinner in Australia
One of the most popular – and long-term – couples in showbiz has made a very low-key entrance into Australia, popping up at a Sydney restaurant.
Longtime Hollywood couple Freddie Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar have reportedly made a very low-key entry into Australia.
The beloved 90s stars, who have been married for 22 years, were spotted at Chin Chin restaurant in Sydney’s CBD on Saturday night with their two teenage children, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The family is reportedly basing themselves in a private home in the city over the coming weeks during filming on the next instalment in the I Know What You Did Last Summer horror franchise – titled I Never Forget What You Did Last Summer – in which Prinze Jr, 48, reprises his role as Ray Bronson.
47-year-old Gellar’s character, Helen Shivers, was killed off in the original 1997 film.
The couple, who both starred in a number of major film and TV series in the late 90s and early 2000s, actually met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer.
They began dating three years later and tied the knot in 2002.
Prinze Jr opened up about the secret to their marriage longevity in an interview with the Oldish podcast earlier this month, explaining that they avoided paparazzi as much as possible.
“I don’t know how deliberate [others] are in trying to avoid that BS,” he said, referring to how celebrities deal with the press.
“I know how easy it’s been for us because I don’t go anywhere. I don’t go to parties. People don’t see Sarah and I out and about at the popular places.”
Meanwhile, not much is known about I Never Forget What You Did Last Summer, although Thor: Love and Thunder filmmaker Jennifer Kaytin Robinson has been confirmed to direct.
Up-and-coming actors Gabriette Bechtel, Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and Jonah Haur-King have all been cast in lead roles.
Original star Ryan Phillippe was killed off in the 1997 film and won’t be returning – although it’s unclear if co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt has signed on.
The horror film is expected to be released next year through Sony Pictures.
