‘He really groomed me’: Model reveals terrifying ordeal of Harvey Weinstein assault on 60 Minutes
ONE of Harvey Weinstein’s alleged victims has spoken to 60 Minutes about how the disgraced Hollywood mogul groomed, manipulated and sexually assaulted her.
A FORMER model has told how disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein groomed, manipulated and attacked her.
Speaking to 60 Minutes tonight, Jasmine Lobe said Weinstein “put his hand down my dress and he grabbed my right breast” during a harrowing encounter at a hotel room in Cannes.
“I think that at that point, if he had wanted to rape me then he would have been able to,” Lobe said, in a report that aired on Nine tonight.
“So it’s one of those situations that I actually feel like, ‘Was I lucky?’”
Lobe said she had met Weinstein when she was a 24-year-old aspiring actor, and that they had a mentor-like friendship.
“He was the gatekeeper, he was the king of Hollywood and everyone wanted to know him,” Lobe said.
Before that terrifying night in Cannes, Lobe said she had repeatedly rejected Weinstein’s attempts to make their friendship “flirtatious”.
“He was both larger than life and really smart and charming, but at the same time he was scary. He was big and he was a big force,” Lobe told 60 Minutes.
“He really groomed me, also as a friend. I saw him as a mentor.”
The 60 Minutes report also detailed allegations that New York-based Australian journalist Dylan Howard was one of Weinstein’s informants, supplying him with embarrassing background details about women — including Rose McGowan — who had accused Weinstein of misconduct.
Howard has explicitly denied the claims.
