Former co-stars Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell have once again sparked romance rumours after this telling Instagram activity following her split from fiance.

Glen Powell has reignited romance rumours with Sydney Sweeney in one bold move after the actress called off her wedding to fiance Jonathan Davino.

The pair first sparked talk they formed a romantic connection when co-starring in the 2023 rom-com Anyone But You, despite Sweeney being engaged to the film producer and Powell dating model Gigi Paris at the time.

The actor soon split from Paris at the height of the “affair” rumours in April 2023, with the model sharing a cryptic Instagram post at the time while also unfollowing the 36-year-old.

“Know your worth and on to the next,” Paris had captioned a video of herself flashing a sly smile on camera.

Fast-forward two years and Sweeney, 27, is now reportedly a single lady after calling off her seven-year relationship with Davino, 41.

To mark the reported break-up, Sweeney shared a series of sultry beach snaps taken by photographer Amber Asaly on Friday.

In the photos, the Euphoria star could be seen without her engagement ring.

Celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski and recently single Jessica Alba “liked” the photos. But the post also attracted the attention of Powell, who reacted to the photos with a heart emoji.

The co-stars caused a stir while filming Anyone But You, appearing overly friendly with one another both on-set, off-set and on social media.

So electric was their connection that they had to deal with speculation their on-screen chemistry had spilled into a real-life affair.

However, in an interview with The New York Times after filming, Powell confessed that he and Sweeney happily played up to the romance rumours in a bid to make their rom-com a success.

“The two things that you have to sell a rom-com are fun and chemistry. Sydney and I have a ton of fun together, and we have a ton of effortless chemistry,” Powell explained.

“That’s people wanting what’s on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit — and it worked wonderfully. Sydney is very smart.”

“I was on every call. I was in text group chats,” Sweeney added. “I was probably keeping everybody over at Sony marketing and distribution awake at night because I couldn’t stop with ideas.”

“I wanted to make sure that we were actively having a conversation with the audience as we were promoting this film, because at the end of the day, they’re the ones who created the entire narrative.”

The Euphoria actress did eventually set the record straight when she hosted Saturday Night Live! in March 2024, saying during her monologue that “the craziest rumour I’ve seen is that while I was filming Anyone But You, I was having an affair with my co-star Glen Powell.”

“That’s obviously not true. Me and my fiance produced the movie together and he was there the entire shoot.

“And I just want to let everyone know that he’s the man of my dreams and we’re still together and stronger than ever.”

Famous last words as this week the couple reportedly called it quits. According to the Daily Mail, Sweeney is “heartbroken” but has accepted their relationship is “all but over”.

“Her personal and professional life were at an all-time high, she was happy, and she was excited to get married. Then it all fell apart as they both had different goals on starting a family, when to do it and when they would spend time as a family,” a source said.

“Her career has become more demanding, and she is now very busy, the way she wants to be for work, but now all of that takes away from securing the relationship they had.”
