Explosive text messages revealed during Marvel star Jonathan Majors’ assault trial

“They will ask you questions”: Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend has broken down as she read texts from her alleged attacker out in court.

Text messages presented in court during Jonathan Majors‘ trial appear to show the Marvel actor admitting to physical violence against his accuser, ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

People reports that the text messages, which were read aloud in court by Jabbari, were sent in September 2022, about six months before Majors was arrested and charged for a separate domestic incident.

“I fear you have no perspective of what could happen if you go to the hospital,” Majors’ text messages to Jabbari read.

“They will ask you questions, and as I don’t think you actually protect us, it could lead to an investigation even if you do lie, and they suspect something.”

The outlet reports Jabbari began to cry as she read her response to the actor, “I will tell the doctor I bumped my head.”

Assistant District Attorney Kelli Galaway took over and read the rest of Jabbari’s message, which said, “I will tell the doctor I bumped my head if I go. I’m going to give it one more day, but I can’t sleep and I need some stronger pain killers. That’s all: why would I tell them what really happened when it’s clear I want to be with you?”

Other text messages shared from that period also showed Majors threatening suicide after the incident, something that Jabbari claimed earlier during her testimony that he often did after their fights.

“Last night I considered killing myself versus coming home,” he wrote. “Or maybe I’m such a monster and horrible man, I don’t deserve it. And I should just kill myself. In this way, my existence is miserable, I want to die.”

Jabbari wrote back that she wouldn’t go to see a doctor for her injury if he doesn’t “feel safe” or “trust” her to. “I promise you I would never mention you but understand your fear,” she wrote to him.

He wrote back, “I will probably kill myself, it’s not really contemplating anymore. I’m a monster, a horrible man, not capable of love. I’m killing myself soon.”

Further details from that incident were not disclosed for the jury.

This development comes on Jabbari’s last day on the stand. When she took the stand earlier this week, she described their turbulent two-year-long relationship.

“I felt like I had to keep a lot of secrets from everyone. I felt very isolated. It was confusing. I felt scared of him but quite dependent on him,” she told the court.

Majors is facing three charges of misdemeanour assault, aggravated harassment and harassment.
