Eminem’s home invader allegedly threatened to kill the rapper

New details of an alleged home invasion of Eminem’s Detroit property reveal the chilling words the culprit uttered to the rapper.

Eminem’s dating app revelation confuses fans

A man who allegedly broke into Eminem’s Detroit home in April shared an ominous message with the rapper, according to police.

In early April, Eminem, born Marshall Mathers, woke to find a man standing behind him, Clinton Township police officer, Adam Hackstock, said in testimony on Wednesday, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The 47-year-old musician originally believed the alleged intruder to be his nephew, but he was later identified to be Matthew David Hughes, Officer Hackstock said.

During the preliminary examination, Officer Hackstock alleged: “When Mr Mathers asked (the intruder) why he was there, he was told by Mr Hughes that he was there to kill him.”

Mr Hughes’ lawyer did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

Mr Hughes was charged with first-degree home invasion and malicious destruction of property and has been in custody since the invasion, according to the Free Press. He also appeared in court on Wednesday.

Eminem was not present, but his lawyer watched the proceedings via video, according to the newspaper.

An arraignment will take place on September 28 after Judge Jacob Femminineo Jr found probable cause to continue with a trial.

Meanwhile, in Officer Hackstock’s testimony, he said he arrived at the property to find a security guard wrestling with Mr Hughes on the ground. He also said that Mr Hughes reportedly muttered “friend” and said he lived nearby.

The officer also testified that Eminem led Mr Hughes, who he states was unarmed, through his home to the exit during the incident.

The outlet reports that a brick was found near a shattered window in the home, the officer said, while Clinton Township Detective Dan Quinn explained security footage showed Mr Hughes was on the property for “quite some time” before entering through the window.

Mr Hughes is being held on a $69,000 cash bond, and the judge denied a request to lower the bail, stating that Eminem’s fame was not a factor in his decision.

The prosecutor told the court that Mr Hughes is homeless.

Mr Hughes’ lawyer, who was appointed by the court, reportedly sought a competency evaluation but was turned down by his client.

“In my opinion, I think there’s some sort of mental issues involved here,” Mr Hughes’ lawyer, Richard Glanda said outside the courtroom.

The court proceedings come weeks after reports the rapper is “stressed out” about what Mariah Carey is set to reveal about him in her new memoir, due out this month.

Carey recently revealed that she’d finished writing The Meaning Of Mariah Carey and Eminem, who has been involved in a public feud with Carey for almost 20 years, is said to be a tad worried.

“Eminem’s Achilles heel has always been Mariah Carey,” a source told US Weekly. “They had a very toxic relationship.

“He knows that Mariah is going to say very negative things about him. He is expecting the onslaught, and almost welcomes it.”
