Edwina Bartholomew admits she lies to her children ‘all the time’
Edwina Bartholomew has opened up about her parenting style, admitting she lies to her children “all the time”.
Sunrise star Edwina Bartholomew made a candid confession about her parenting style, revealing she lies to her children “all the time”.
In her column for News Corp Australia, the Channel 7 presenter said that a little fib to the kids every now and then was okay.
The 39-year-old mum of two revealed her daughter Molly left a birthday party with a bag full of lollies, she ate a Freddo Frog in the car and saved the rest for “later”.
When the three-year-old asked her where the treats were, the TV star didn’t say.
“We are not sugar-free in our house by any stretch, but we do try to be sugarless,” Bartholomew wrote.
The broadcaster assumed that the youngster would have forgotten about the treats by the next day.
However, her daughter asked about them at 6am the next morning.
“I didn’t just say they disappeared or appropriately confess to chucking them out. I told her a fox ate them,” the TV personality confessed.
A week later, the journalist said her fib has been getting “more complicated” as her daughter checks outside the house every day for this lolly-snatching fox.
She said she even had to recruit her husband into her “dark web of lie”, with her daughter asking a lot of questions about the fox that stole her lollies.
The breakfast television star wed her husband Neil Varcoe in 2018.
The couple share two children – Molly and Thomas who is almost one.
Despite being a relatively new mum, she recently backed calls for ‘adults-only’ suburbs with no children.
“I think it’s a brilliant idea. I love my kids. I love their company but I don’t love the sound of someone else’s screaming child,” she wrote.
