DNA traces found in luxury apartment as police open investigation into Kim Kardashian robbery

COPS find DNA traces inside the luxury apartment where Kim Kardashian was robbed, as a dodgy Halloween costume is canned.

DNA traces have been found in the luxury apartment Kim Kardashian West was staying in when she was the victim of a dramatic robbery in Paris earlier this month, a source told AFP.

It comes as French prosecutors formally opened an investigation into the robbery in which the US reality TV star lost millions in jewellery.

The investigation is focusing on “armed theft in a gang, criminal conspiracy and kidnapping,” another source said.

Police said a gang of five armed men burst into the residence in the early hours of October 3, tied up Kardashian and stole a ring and jewellery worth around $14 million.

They are believed to have fled the scene by bicycle.

Kardashian, 35, who had been attending Paris fashion week, was briefly questioned by police before flying back to New York. She has since sued a media outlet and its owner for claiming she lied about the robbery.

On Wednesday, a Halloween costume depicting the reality star bound and gagged in her bathrobe was pulled from sale online, after being branded “disgusting”.

The costume by California-based Costumeish did not name the star but came complete with a long wig, engagement ring and robe and was called a “Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume Kit”.

The star’s bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, was not with her at the time of the attack because he was providing security for Kardashian’s sister Kourtney at a Paris nightclub.

Kardashian, who is married to US rap star Kanye West, has kept a low profile since returning home.

Kim’s sister Khloe has opened up about her emotional state since the robbery, saying “she’s not doing that well.

“It’s incredibly traumatic what happened to her, but our family is super close and great and we’ll get through it together,” she said, according to Us Weekly.

“We do appreciate all of your guys’ love and support. It will take time. It was horrible what happened to her.”
