Desperate search for missing Gossip Girl star
Actress Chanel Banks - best known for her role in the hit teen drama show - hasn’t been heard from in more than two weeks.
An actor who starred in Gossip Girl has been reported missing, sparking an urgent hunt.
Chanel Banks, who also appeared in Blue Bloods, spoke with her family around two weeks ago and hasn’t been heard from since.
Danielle-Tori Singh, the actor’ cousin, last heard from the TV star on October 30 via text, according to US television network KABC-TV, reports The Sun.
But, three days prior, the pair were on a FaceTime call.
Cops carried out a series of checks at Banks’ Los Angeles apartment on November 7 and 8, per a GoFundMe page that has since been created.
But the 36-year-old’s disappearance remains shrouded in mystery.
It emerged that she had left her car and pet dog behind.
Family members have said she doesn’t normally leave her apartment without her dog.
Her cell phone and laptop were not found in the apartment.
Banks’ belongings were still in the apartment on November 10 when Danielle and the actor’ mum, Judy Singh, visited the property.
“That girl is more like a big sister to me.”
She now fears something isn’t right.
“I can tell you in my soul, in my gut, something is not right,” she said.
“We’re crossing two weeks now without a word, without a sound. Nothing.”
No one has been charged in connection with her disappearance as the search continues.
Mystery disappearance
Danielle jetted in from Toronto, while Judy flew in from New York.
Danielle has vowed not to leave California before the end of the search.
“I’m not going to leave California until I find my cousin,” she told the CW affiliate KTLA.
She has also begged Banks to contact her family.
“We just want to know you’re okay and that you’re safe and that nobody did anything to you,” she pleaded.
Danielle revealed that Banks wouldn’t go anywhere before telling her mum.
Banks, who has lived in Los Angeles for over a decade, starred in three episodes of Gossip Girl, where she played the character Sawyer Bennett.
