Demi Lovato rants on Twitter following stint in rehab
Demi Lovato has spoken out about her stint in rehab, taking to Twitter to set the record straight and cautioning her fans to not believe everything they read.
Demi Lovato is not sorry for keeping her recovery to herself.
The 26-year-old singer let her Lovatics know via Twitter that she’s doing well, months after her overdose, while cautioning her followers to not believe what they read about her these days.
The singer, who completed a 90-day rehab stint following the summer incident and has since re-emerged several times on Instagram, said that she’ll eventually reveal what happened that day but isn’t ready to share just yet.
I love my fans, and hate tabloids. Donât believe what you read. People will literally make up stuff to sell a story. Sickening.

Someday Iâll tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened and what my life is like today.. but until Iâm ready to share that with people please stop prying and making up shit that you know nothing about. I still need space and time to heal..

Any âsourceâ out there that is willing to talk and sell stories to blogs and tabloids about my life isnât actually a part of my life because most of the shit I see is soooooo inaccurate. So newsflash: your âsourcesâ are wrong.

I would love to set the record straight on all the rumors out there but I literally donât owe anyone anything so Iâm not going to. All my fans need to know is Iâm working hard on myself, Iâm happy and clean and Iâm SO grateful for their support. ð

Although she wouldn’t mention a specific rumour or story that has been written about her, a situation that made for tabloid fodder after the overdose was the role of her friend and backup dancer Dani Vitale, who was initially blamed for Lovato’s overdose.
But the singer insisted “sources” quoted by the media are inaccurate, adding that she will not personally address any specific rumours while she’s on the road the recovery. In October, her mum revealed she was 90 days sober.
“I would love to set the record straight on all the rumours out there but I literally don’t owe anyone anything so I’m not going to,” she wrote. “All my fans need to know is I’m working hard on myself, I’m happy and clean and I’m SO grateful for their support.”
Lovato concluded her rant by ensuring followers that she’s taking time out of the spotlight to relax with her family.
“I’m so grateful, truly,” she said.
