Sex and the City star Chris Noth has been dropped from his CBS series The Equalizer as he faces sexual assault allegations.

Three women have accused the “Mr Big” actor, 67, of sexual assault in recent weeks, the US Sun reports.

CBS confirmed that Noth will no longer appear on The Equalizer in a statement on Monday.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the statement read: “Chris Noth will no longer film additional episodes of The Equalizer, effective immediately.”

Noth has been starring on the crime drama as William Bishop since its debut in February 2021.

While the actor will not film any more episodes of the show, one more episode featuring his character will air as production has already concluded.

CBS made the announcement days after multiple women claimed the actor had sexually assaulted them.

The under-fire star has vehemently denied forcing himself on two women, Zoe, 40, and Lily, 31, after they spoke to the outlet for a bombshell article last week.

The alleged victims – who do not know each other – said the recent promotion of HBO Max’s Sex and the City revival And Just Like That stirred painful memories of the alleged incidents.

One alleged incident occurred in Los Angeles in 2004 and the other in New York in 2015.

Noth insisted that both encounters with the women were consensual.

Shortly after the initial report, a 30-year-old female tech executive alleged to the Daily Beast that she was sexually assaulted by Noth while she worked as a hostess and lounge singer at New York City restaurant, Da Marino, in 2010.

In addition to being accused of assault, actor Zoe Lister-Jones, 39, claimed the TV star was guilty of sexual misconduct when they previously worked together.

Chris Noth in the spotlight after reboot

Noth recently made headlines when he reprised his role of John James “Mr Big” Preston, the love interest of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), in the SATC sequel.

The fan-favourite character was killed off during the dramatic premiere after suffering a heart attack following an intense workout on a Peloton electric bike in emotional scenes.

After the rape accusations, Peloton removed an ad starring Noth that went viral last week.

The commercial was a spoof of Mr Big’s death scene, which included a voiceover by Ryan Reynolds.

Noth’s wife ‘not doing well’

Days after the allegations come out, The Sun exclusively reported that the actor’s wife, Tara Wilson, has been left reeling after finding out he was unfaithful.

The pair tied the knot in 2010, and they share children, Orion, 13, and 18-month-old Keats.

Noth’s friend exclusively told The Sun: “He may be non-monogamous, we have established that his wife didn’t know.

“If anything, he is guilty of that. She is in LA and is very upset … she’s not doing well. They planned to spend Christmas together but that is now unknown.”

The source continued: “There are two sides to every story and people need to know this before they judge.

“The Chris I’ve met is not the Chris that’s being described by these women.

“All his friends are sticking by him. He is a flirt, but not a sleaze. He’s no Weinstein. I believe him and I believe it didn’t go down the way it’s allegedly portrayed.”
