WHILE you’re picking up Easter egg foil, wrangling kids on a sugar-high and trying to remember the last time you entered a gym, please take a moment to reflect on how Hollywood stars Chris Hemsworth and Matt Damon spent their holiday weekend.

Yes, this story will make you feel terrible. It’s kind of like a hangnail: Picking it off will cause extreme pain but something compels you to do it anyway and you don’t know why.

Anyway, local Byron Bay family the Hemsworths welcomed the Hollywood-based Damons to their beachside shire for the Easter long weekend where they proceeded to go out for too many brunches, chill on the beach and take in the tunes at Bluesfest.

Bluesfest is a music festival that happens in Byron every Easter and is kind-of-the-same-but-not-really to Bingefest which I hold in my apartment every Easter. As a side note, news.com.au understands neither the Hemsworths or the Damons were spotted eating any kind of chocolate or terrible food over the course of the long weekend which is disappointing and also just a little smug.

It was a weekend in paradise — complimented by warm Instagram filters and the kind of bohemian outfits you wish you could wear without looking like an idiot.

On Thursday, Chris and Matt’s wives, Elsa Pataky and Luciana Barroso, got an early start to the festivities and enjoyed the surf while wearing chic wide brim hats and sarongs as their kids splashed in the water.

Then on Friday, Elsa hung solo with the Damons as they all raised a beer to the long weekend. I don’t why Chris wasn’t included in these plans. Maybe Elsa and he had a fight. Or Maybe Matt specifically texted Elsa and said not to bring Chris because the Damons actually like Elsa better. I can’t say for sure.

Apparently Chris is a snooze and wasn’t invited to drinks.

As the weekend rolled on, Chris was back in the fold and took to Instagram to share a video of the gang at Byron Bay’s Bluesfest taking in the sounds of American gospel and soul singer Leon Bridges.

The eleventh brunch of the weekend took place at Lennox Head’s Shelter Cafe, where the Damons looked relaxed and stylish and the Hemsworths wore a lot of singlets and minimal footwear.

Phew. It looks like the Hemsworths and Damons had a sensational weekend. I’m so thankful and not at all jealous it was so well-documented. I feel like I was there. I can practically feel the sticky salt air on my skin. Oh wait, that’s chocolate.
