Chris and Liam Hemsworth’s sneaky Queensland family getaway
As soon as borders opened, Chris and Liam Hemsworth headed north from Byron Bay for a lush family beach getaway.
It seems like the Hemsworth / Pataky clan wasted no time in racing north for a Queensland getaway once the state border reopened last Friday.
And while Chris and Liam Hemsworth and Chris’ wife Elsa Pataky may have wanted to keep their holiday under wraps – they haven’t posted a single happy snap to their 60 million-odd combined Instagram following – a couple of their less famous friends have kept fans updated.
Also present on the low-key family trip to Rainbow Beach north of Noosa were Hemsworth family friends April and Luke Munro and their kids.
April posted pics from the getaway to her Instagram account – with cameos from a few A-list faces.

Earlier this year Chris Hemsworth explained why he made the move from Hollywood to his sprawling hilltop property just south of Byron Bay, an hour away from the Queensland border. It was a move brother Liam also made after his high-profile divorce from Miley Cyrus last year.

“You’re a little bit too much in the eye of the storm when you’re living in Hollywood,” he told GQ of the move.
“Living in Australia, it’s also easier to detach myself from work – and you get a bit more leeway to let a few emails and phone calls slide on by.”
Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph, the Aussie action hero said he grew tired of constantly being surrounded by billboards of himself and never switching off from his projects.
“When you’re suffocated by the work, every conversation that you’re having and every billboard you’re seeing is to do with a movie or whatever around the industry. You lose perspective,” he told the publication.
The father to India, 7, and twin boys Tristan and Sasha, 6, added: “There’s not a single person there (Byron Bay) that I interact with, or close friends of mine, that are really in the industry and so that’s hugely refreshing.”
