Beckhams do Sydney: David climbs the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Victoria gets her nails done
NOW that Harry and Meghan have left our shores, it’s all about the other famous British family, the Beckhams. Here’s what they got up to in Sydney today.
THE Beckhams split in Sydney today with Victoria treating Harper to a girls’ day and David hanging with his two boys.
The famous family arrived in Sydney on the weekend and are here because David is an ambassador for the Invictus Games.
On Monday, David, 43, Victoria, 44, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and Harper, 7, had a day of quad-biking and abseiling at Glenworth Valley Outdoor Adventures on the Central Coast.
The adventure park’s account mentioned the visit on Instagram and revealed the Beckhams had asked them not to post any images of them.
“We are respectful of the family’s wish to refrain from posting the photos on social media,” a post on Glenworth Valley’s Instagram page said.
Victoria Beckham had the same request today when she took Harper to The Nail Lab in Darlinghurst.
The former Spice Girl banned the venue from posting a photo but later uploaded one herself with the caption, “Girls’ day out in Sydney! Kisses x”.
The photo shows Harper sitting on her mum’s lap reading the latest issue of Vogue Australia which Victoria appears on the cover of.
Inside the magazine, which was released earlier in October, Victoria spoke about her trip to Australia and said she was a little nervous about the long journey.
“The only time I’ve been there before was with the Spice Girls, 24 hours in Sydney and Melbourne,” she told Vogue.
“When you’re young and travelling the world like that, you’d sit in your hotel room and watch TV. When you’re older, you want to get out and see things.”
David, Romeo and Cruz skipped the nail salon and instead opted to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The football superstar shared a photo on Instagram with the caption, “Very special to be able to take the boys to the top of the Harbour Bridge today … Thank you to everyone that looked after us especially Nick our guide.”
David Beckham made headlines around the world on Sunday when he described his marriage to Victoria as “hard work” in an interview with The Project’s Lisa Wilkinson.
“When you’ve been married for the amount of time that we have, it’s always hard work,” David said. “It becomes a little more complicated.”
Victoria Beckham was reportedly left humiliated and in “floods of tears” after hearing about David’s comments.
“When Victoria was given the heads up on Wednesday about David’s interview, she was absolutely devastated,” a friend told The Sun.
“She has no idea why he would say such insensitive things and publicly embarrass her like this.
“As you can imagine, it was as if a nuclear bomb had gone off in the Beckham household when she found out.
“She was in pieces and spent the next two days crying. To say it’s not been the best of weeks is an understatement.”
The interview came just four months after the couple was hit by unfounded claims their almost 20-year marriage was on the rocks.
