Visiting US star JoJo Siwa seen kissing local in Bondi
She’s in town for an awards show, but these new photos of JoJo Siwa and Abbie Chatfield’s bestie suggest she’s mixing business and pleasure.
Visiting US reality TV star and pop singer JoJo Siwa has been spotted getting up close and personal with her rumoured Aussie love interest in Bondi.
Siwa, 21, was photographed holding hands and sharing a kiss with Kath Ebbs, one of Abbie Chatfield’s best friends.
The pair were spotted chatting and laughing together at a cafe in Bondi Beach.
Siwa, who publicly came out as gay in 2021, has been in Australia since last week, where she performed at the TikTok Awards in Sydney.
She previously dated best friend Kylie Prew for several months in 2021, and more recently, a three-month relationship with Dakayla Wilson that she only last month confirmed had ended.
“We have gone our separate ways, but she is an amazing girl,” Siwa said.
A former child star who had a huge pre-teen fanbase through her work with Nickelodeon, Siwa recently revealed her career took a hit when she decided to come out.
“The president of the network called me and was like, ‘What are we going to tell the kids?’ I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He was like, ‘What are we going to tell kids and parents?’” Siwa revealed to Demi Lovato in Lovato’s recent Hulu documentary, Child Star.
“I was like, ‘That I’m happy? What? You want me to tell them I’m making out with a girl? I’m not going to tell them that.’”
Siwa claimed the CEO told her that she needed to call every major retailer that stocked her merchandise to assure them she wasn’t “going crazy.”
After that, she said she failed to receive an invite to the next Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards, despite being heavily involved in previous ceremonies.
“I basically got blackballed from the company,” Siwa said.
“They said [not being invited] was an accident. I guess I just didn’t realise, with how young I was, how ‘scary’ it was supposed to be. I think [coming out] was the best thing I’ve ever done. I don’t think coming out should be a scary thing. I wish there wasn’t that stigma around it, but there is.”
Since moving into adulthood, Siwa’s undergone a not-altogether-convincing rebrand as a bad girl pop star, launching her grown-up pop career with the track Karma earlier this year.
