‘Triggered’: Glee star fires at Lea Michele

A former Glee cast member has made a biting reply when asked if he planned to see former co-star Lea Michele in her latest Broadway role.

Beanie Feldstein’s exit from Funny Girl raises eyebrows

Former Glee star Chris Colfer is the latest cast member to throw shade on Lea Michele.

While being interviewed on a US radio show, Colfer, who starred as Kurt Hummel on the hit musical TV series, had a blunt reply when asked if he was planning to catch Michele in her starring role on Broadway in Funny Girl.

In a clip that SiriusXM radio host Michelle Collins shared to her Instagram, Colfer was heard asking the interviewer: “Oh no, are you seeing Funny Girl?”

Collins confirmed she was planning to, and asked Colfer, 32, if he would like to join her, to which he replied: “My day suddenly just got so full.”

Collins then asked if Colfer was going to take an opportunity to see the show while he was “in town” in New York City.

He responded, “No, I could be triggered at home.”

She captioned the Instagram post of the clip: “Went to Funny Girl by myself bc Chris wouldn’t come with me lol.”

People were quick to comment, with many loving the biting reply.

“Wheeeeew the transparency and TEA HONEY! Lol,” American Idol finalist Peter Frank said.

Comedian and actress Anna Roisman wrote a simple: “Hahahahahahahha perfect.”

“Wow Lea really did a number on the entire Glee cast and crew, huh?” asked one fan.

“The SHADE went so good with my morning coffee! I was cackling,” said another.

Previously, Michele has had accusations of bullying levelled at her by former Glee cast members.

Samantha Ware, who played Jane Hayward, was the first to make the claims, saying Michele made her time on the show a “living hell”.

Ware was supported by other cast members including Alex Newell (Unique Adams), Heather Morris (Brittany S. Pierce) and Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones).

Others later made their own accusations against Michele, including actress Imia Edwards, who appeared in season six.

She claimed Michele made background performers on set feel as though they were “nothing” and referred to them as “cockroaches”.

“I’ve never really seen anyone treat extras like that, to that level of, ‘Ugh, don’t look at me, don’t make eye contact, ugh cockroaches, there they are,’” Edwards told The Sun.

But in response to the claims, Michele said it was due to her “perfectionism” on set.

“I have an edge to me. I work really hard. I leave no room for mistakes,” she said. “That level of perfectionism, or that pressure of perfectionism, left me with a lot of blind spots.”

Michele is currently starring in the lead role of Fanny Brice in Funny Girl on stage in New York after Beanie Feldstein announced her early departure from the show.
