Tom Hanks’ angry red carpet moment caught on camera at Cannes
Hollywood’s “nicest guy” Tom Hanks appears to have been caught in a very rare moment of rage during a red carpet appearance in Cannes.
He’s got a reputation as one of Hollywood’s nicest people, but Tom Hanks reportedly had a rare moment of public rage during an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival.
The actor, 66, was walking the red carpet for the premiere of his new film Asteroid City with his wife, Rita Wilson, when the pair appeared to become embroiled in a stoush with a festival staffer.
The Elvis actor could be seen pointing his finger angrily while furrowing his brow, with the staff member appearing to try to diffuse the situation.
After a short period, the A-list couple walked away to head down the red carpet for the event.
Hanks and Wilson seemed to have completely brushed off the moment of tension by the time they joined the rest of the Asteroid City cast, smiling as they posed for pictures.
The Forrest Gump actor stars alongside a huge ensemble cast including Scarlett Johansson, Jason Schwartzman, Adrien Brody, Bryan Cranston, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, Maya Hawke, Steve Carrell and Margot Robbie in the science fiction romantic comedy-drama.
The Wes Anderson-directed story is set in 1955, where students and parents from across the US have gathered at a Junior Stargazer convention in a fictional American desert town with an eerie feel.
Chaos ensues when a world event takes place while they’re all there.
