The reader reviews of Kim Kardashian’s book of selfies are in and they’re not pretty
THE first reader reviews of Kim Kardashian’s ‘book’ of selfies are flooding in and many of them are hilariously harsh.
WHEN you invite people on the internet to say what they think, don’t expect anyone to hold back.
Such is the case with the first flood of reader reviews of Kim Kardashian’s ‘book’ of selfies, released last week.
The reality television star’s 440-page compilation of self portraits, titled Selfish, has received mixed reviews on Amazon.
While many fans describe it as a “literary masterpiece” and “a great coffee table book”, critics have delivered various harsh assessments of Kardashian’s first foray into the world of publishing.
“As David Letterman would say, this is why the rest of the world hates us,” one reviewer wrote, giving Selfish one star.
From some 188 customer reviews, the book so far has a star rating of two-and-a-half out of five. But it’s in the comments section where readers have been able to say what they really think.
THE GOOD
“As a Kardashian fan, I purchased it expecting it to be book full of selfies and I got that. My only gripe is the binding and the cover because it comes off, but it has nothing to do with the content of the book.”
“The book is interesting. Kim’s narrations are an unexpected bonus. I would highly recommend this surprisingly large volume. It’s a great coffee table book.”
“At $10, this is a fabulous price for the common man and woman. Kim rocking a bikini, Kim in lingerie, Kim in a halter top, Kim in a dress.”
THE BAD
“The book has a strange smell — not entirely burnt rubber, but definitely distinct.”
“This is a new low for mankind.”
“I’m not an advocate for book burnings, but with this one, I’ll make an exception. Anybody involved with the publication, promotion and/or sale of this book should be ashamed for lowering the cultural bar several notches. Please stop — enough is enough.”
“Run for your lives! The end of civilisation is near.”
THE SARCASTIC
“Awesome for making a fire!”
“A literary masterpiece! Worthy of being in the company of Bastiat and Hugo! The powerful visual imagery, coupled with her internationally acclaimed humanitarian, scientific and academic achievements will catapult her to historic international importance. Her book will go down in history as the defining moment of 21st Century social relevance and intellectual achievement. I have no doubt that this publication will soon join the Bible and the Koran as one of the world’s most influential books of all time!”
“she naked in it so its (sic) aight.”
“Subjects lack variety. I hope in future collections, she branches out and photographs different kinds of people.”
